The 13th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPCs) between Pakistan and Norway concluded today in Oslo, with both nations pledging to deepen their cooperative ties. Leading the Pakistani delegation was Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe) Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, while Norway was represented by Ambassador Signe Brudeset, Director General of the Department for Regional Affairs at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The consultations covered a broad range of topics including political and economic relations, with a focus on enhancing cooperation in renewable energy, IT, fisheries, maritime sectors, climate, education, health, and parliamentary exchanges. Both sides acknowledged the positive influence of the Pakistani diaspora in Norway on bilateral relations.

During the discussions, both countries expressed satisfaction with the current state of their relations and agreed to further intensify their collaboration, including at international platforms like the United Nations. Regional and global issues were also part of the agenda.

The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Islamabad next year, with dates to be mutually decided.
