India Energy Week (IEW) 2025 is set to be a landmark event in the global energy calendar, taking place from February 11 to 14 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi. Organized under the patronage of India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in partnership with the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), IEW 2025 is poised to surpass its predecessors with record-breaking participation and an extensive agenda.

Since its inception in 2023, IEW has solidified its reputation as one of the fastest-growing energy events worldwide, providing a platform to drive meaningful dialogue on energy transitions, sustainable solutions, and global collaboration. This year’s edition is expected to bring together over 70,000 delegates from 120 countries, including more than 700 exhibitors and 10 country pavilions, showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions. Nations such as the United States, Germany, Japan, and Russia will be represented, reinforcing IEW’s global appeal.

A highlight of IEW 2025 is the anticipated attendance of high-level participants, including over 70 CEOs from major international and domestic energy corporations and 20+ energy ministers from advanced and developing economies. Distinguished speakers will include leaders from global energy giants such as BP, TotalEnergies, QatarEnergy, ADNOC, Baker Hughes, and Vitol. This reflects the event’s stature as a global hub for innovation, leadership, and strategic energy partnerships.

The event’s agenda incorporates seven strategic themes—Collaboration, Resilience, Transition, Capacity, Digital Frontiers, Innovation, and Leadership. With a heightened focus on decarbonization, energy equity, and low-carbon economies, IEW 2025 aligns with India’s dual objectives of energy independence and sustainability. Expanding from 18 thematic categories in 2024 to 20 this year, the conference will delve into topics like AI integration, digitalization, and maritime decarbonization, mirroring the energy sector’s evolving priorities.

Key sessions will cover critical issues, including clean power pathways, grid-scale energy storage, and methane mitigation technologies. Reflecting its growing influence, the event has seen a 29% increase in submitted abstracts and a 24% rise in speaker participation compared to the previous year. The inclusion of structured stages focusing on Resilience and Transition ensures relevance to both national and global energy agendas.

IEW 2025 will also spotlight India’s achievements in energy innovation and sustainability. Key focus areas include advancements in renewable energy, battery storage technologies, and hydrogen production, alongside initiatives such as 2G and 3G biofuels and green ammonia. The event underscores India’s commitment to energy security, energy justice, and amplifying the voice of the Global South. It also aims to highlight investment opportunities in India’s hydrocarbon sector, reinforcing the nation’s position as a global leader in sustainable energy solutions.

India’s whole-of-government approach to energy transformation is evident in the participation of key ministries, including the Ministry of Power, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), NITI Aayog, and the Ministry of Mines and Minerals. Their collaboration ensures an integrated strategy for addressing energy challenges while fostering inclusivity across the sector.

A major feature of IEW 2025 will be its focus on fostering global innovation and collaboration. Events such as the Clean Cooking Ministerial will highlight efforts to expand clean cooking solutions, showcasing India’s success stories like the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). Other impactful sessions include roundtables on decarbonizing India’s transport sector and AI in energy, moderated by global organizations like Bloomberg and S&P Global Commodities.

Encouraging innovation, the Avinya Energy Startup Challenge 2.0 will provide a platform for emerging energy startups. The top five winners will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations, gaining global visibility. Additionally, special workshops and masterclasses by international experts will engage students, entrepreneurs, and innovators, promoting skill development and knowledge exchange. Notably, these sessions will be offered free of cost, ensuring accessibility and wider participation.

Exhibition access will be free for visitors, allowing a broader audience to experience the latest advancements and discussions shaping the future of energy. Shri Pankaj Jain, Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, emphasized IEW 2025’s role as a springboard for collaboration on projects like green hydrogen, solar technologies, and advanced exploration techniques. The event, he stated, exemplifies India’s leadership in navigating complex energy transitions.

As the fastest-growing global energy event, IEW 2025 is poised to redefine energy dialogue, collaboration, and innovation. With its focus on pragmatic solutions and fostering a sustainable energy future, it promises to be a pivotal moment for the global energy community.
